Given that the Returning Officer for these elections is the notoriously slack city chief solicitor, Stephen MacNamara, I am not reassured by this claim.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am a lib dem voter and certainly did not knowingly witness a signature for the BNP. I don’t know whether the signature is a fake (they’ve got my name wrong so I guess it could be) or I was conned in some way (never thought I’d be that dumb but I guess it happens).
I will try to get the issue rectified as best I can as despite not even living in Bristol anymore I can’t stand the idea of being associated (in however vague a manner) with such a vile organisation.
