I see Bristol’s contribution to George Galloway’s glorious Viva Palestina! convoy has set forth on their mercy mission to the holy land.
And is it really a surprise that indefatigable George is bravely leading from the front in a brand spanking new Mercedes 4×4 with a plush Winnebago motorhome in tow to sleep in at night?
He’ll also be flying back to the UK for three days a week to continue presenting his quisling TV show for Iranian government TV.
The great socialist leader for our time, George, says of his mission, “”This is a vast armada, the biggest convoy of British vehicles to cross North Africa since Montgomery and the Eighth Army.”
Do you want to tell him or shall I? They’re actually directly following Rommel’s route, not Monty’s …
Very appropriate that Gorgeous George should be driving this route in a Mercedes; Erwin Rommel was a great fan of the Mercedes too.
Other enthusiasts less fortunate than George will have to content themselves with a 1:43 diecast scale model of a Grand Mercedes Staff Car, complete with the Desert Fox himself standing in the back, lovingly crafted by the Italian company RIO. It doesn’t however have any aid for opponents of Israel in the boot.

I disagree I think the more fortunate are those that have a model of the Desert Fox in his Merc staff car.
I notice you failed to mention the arrests made of some of those intent on joining the convoy…

Rommel’s route or Monty’s route? It depends who was advancing or retreating at the time. But the epithet “Desert Rats” seems quite apposite.
You were the first to jump down the neck of people using Nazi analogies with Israel, now you are doing it with people campaigning for Palestine! Galloway is a puffed up egotist, but to cynically attack the whole movement rather misses the point.
I quite enjoy watching Press TV myself, of course it is biased, but then so is Fox, Sky and the BBC. I notice no attack on Blair for his role as toady or advisor to the Colombian regime….

FFS Red Lettuce, can’t you put another bloody record on?
Personally, I’d like to see the post of Bristol City Executioner brought back so that someone can legally cut Blair’s head off and mount it on a pointy stick down by Bristol Bridge – though that’s not for anything to do with Colombia, or indeed anything any foreign policy decision… I think he did enough damage here to deserve that! I also have a theory that the global economic crisis could be solved by sacrificing Gordon Brown at Stonehenge this summer solstice… but that’s another story.
It should be pointed out that this is BB’s blog, and, he can write about whatever he wants, whenever he wants… if you would like to start your own blog, then you can write as many articles about any middle class, Scottish, champagne socialist as you choose… indeed, I may even choose to read what you write, and, if I am especially moved, make the relevant offensive comments.
In the meantime, try reading this from your fellow lefty and Green Party member Peter Tatchell. Personally I don’t agree with him on very much, however, I’ve always admired his get up and go.

Hello again my reptillian friend,
As Vic Reeves used to say “I wouldn’t let it lie!”
I would never wish to censor BB (not that I could)
I’m no fan of Galloway (or Hamas) as I said … but he’s small fry (apart from in his head)
Agree with you on Blair anyway!
Already read Tatchell’s article – agree with that too! He is one of the bravest activists out there, whatever you think of his politics.
Already have a short blog, that is rather neglected, I guess that with the economy up the spout I will spend more time on it though….:

I spend a considerable amount of my time reading blogs (time when I should be working I might add), and, I must confess that your blog had escaped my notice completely… maybe that demonstrates the depth of its impact.
Check out my name link for a real reptile.
Thats pretty cool…
I did admit my blog isn’t the most involved or well kept!
