David Abrahams – “The man they don’t know”!
Peter Hain is now admitting he received a £5k donation for his deputy leadership campaign from the Labour Party fundraiser at the centre of the row, Jon Mendolsohn. Apparently he just “forgot” to register this donation. Easy mistake that anyone could have made really . . .
Also today increasing interest is being taken in David Abrahams personal finances. Business journalists calculate he’s worth around £8m, which means it’s unlikely he could personally afford to be donating up to a tenth of that to the Labour Party.
So where did he get the money?
Abrahams has also told The Telegraph that he has met Gordon Brown as many times as he has “eaten porridge” in the morning.
