On the culture front

It’s the blog ‘o the week . . . A big thanks to the Bone Blog for this one.

Liverpool - City of Culture

We couda been contenders . . . But thankfully Jeremy Isaacs saved us from a couple of bucks and a one-way ticket to Palookaville courtesy of £80k a year culture boss  Andrew Kelly and his crazed crew of business cheerleaders.

Instead we can gloat at the Liverpool’s embarrasing fiasco of c-list celebs, gormless PR, overpaid bureaucrats, missed deadlines and corporate profiteering that is the reality of being the city of culture 2008.

The full unvarnished truth can be found at www.liverpoolsubculture.blogspot.com. Enjoy!

Mind you, it should be remembered Kelly the Culture Clown did guarantee us the full programme of cultural events from his bid for 2008 anyway. The Blogger will be digging these out soon to bring you EXCLUSIVE news on what Kelly and his business friends will be doing for us next year.

Watch this space.

That city 0f culture thing was horrible, trully annoying. Never before had so much of the city’s cultural life been so ignored in favour of synthetic corporate crap. Also I was homeless at the time and really pissed off that they dared to spend money on pseudo-glitzy rubbish like that when people were without a roof over their heads. Bastards.
