Does the former Labour Councillor for Windmill Hill, Christopher Orlik know something about his former employers we don’t?
Not only has he joined the campaign to save the railway path but he’s rejected all the usual sedate campaigning pastimes aimed at politely changing his former colleagues’ minds like lobbying, letter writing, leafleting and PR and decided to join the direct action group instead!
Is this our first railway path martyr in the making?
Don’t forget to look out for Christopher’s inaugural Molotov Cocktail workshop taking place at the Knowle United Reform Church Hall very soon.
Wasn’t Chris Orlik one of organisers of a petition in favour of closing Prince Street Bridge to motor traffic some years ago? Perhaps he’s feeling as pissed off as the rest of us with the uselessness of the “normal channels” after the spineless Bradshaw ditched the Prince Street Bridge plan despite its popular support.
As I recall that was all because some business type, who couldn’t bear the thought of having to walk across the bridge to his plush offices in Queen Square, whinged to his mates on the Post and got an anti-campaign whipped up, complete with one of the Post’s famously even-handed editorials.
So Chris, were you on kibbutz Parod in 68 or 69 and do you remember Sam, the female Canadian volunteer who visited you and family in Beckonsfield Buckinghamshire on her way back to Israel. Do let me know all the best Sam
Hello Sam
How nice to hear from you. Yes t’was I all those years ago but unlike Meatloaf in `Wasted Youth’ (Bat out of Hell 2,) I remember NOTHING.
And it is also very embarrassing being caught Googling oneself.
But I would love to hear from you wherever you so hope that you get back to this site.
